3 new bills are being pushed by the dems to make a change. Barney Frank was the first to put forth a bill trying to overturn the UIGEA. I am not so sure how effective this will be since it goes across the board for all types of online wagering. Most of us in the PPA are just looking to get Poker cut out of the silly law.
Poker is a game of skill, and a game of chance. You can't skirt around either of those statements. NC has ruled it is only a game of chance. They are really not looking at the issue. Thats like saying golf is a game of chance cause a little old 102 year old woman hit a hole in one the other day. She could take down Tiger Woods on luck alone! Its all perspective. Short term it may be luck, but long term it will come down to skill, money management, etc. Exactly the reverse of all casino based games, where in the short term you have a chance of getting ahead, but in the long run the house always wins.
We need to overturn this thing, we need you to sign up at the PPA website. We need to email, call, and write letters to our state representatives. They are the ones that messed this up in the first place and we need to let them know we are not happy.
